The Annual General Meeting of NUT FCT Multipurpose Co-operative Society for the year ended 31st December 2017 was held on 11th August 2018 at G.S.S. Gwagwalada, Daigri – Along Lokoja-G/lada Express Road, under the chairmanship of Com. Mamud Ameh Enemakwu.
The meeting was indeed historical, as a lot of achievement and excitement were recorded.
Below are insights of the historical event.
The event was anchored by Com. Margaret Jethro, Assistant Secretary (AS) NUT FCT WING.
A welcome address was presented by the NUT-FCT STATE CHAIRMAN, Com. Stephen Knabayi, where he expressed utmost pleasure and welcomes all the stakeholders to the meeting.
NUT-FCT CO-OPERTAIVE is known to be one of the best, most active and the largest in terms of membership numerical strength among Co-operative societies in Abuja, Nigeria today, with a rapid increased of members in December 2017 to over 7,050 Cooperators.
In a related development, the total membership equity amounted to over 1.4 Billion as at 31st December, 2017.
In respect of the Cooperative earnings which made members enjoyed dividends/returned of about N 110,057,136.35 (One Hundred and Ten Million, Fifty-Seven Thousand, One Hundred and Thirty-Six, Thirty-Five Kobo) for the year ended 31st December 2016 & 2017 was declared and paid as dividends amongst members.
In addition, cooperators received their dividends proportionately of the above figure credited in their bank accounts on that very day at the AGM venue, which has never happen entirely for any co-operative society. This huge achievement made the cooperative as the first cooperative society that has ever made payment of dividend instantly as it was declared and approved at the AGM floor.
This really shows that the cooperative takes its members as a top priority.
